Hi everyone!
This is a phenomenal protein-packed flavorful snack! I'm excited to show you this is yummy, crunchy, vegan delight. You can make it spicy or not - up to you when it comes to the seasonings. It's healthy and simple, and perfect for fun party food or on-the-go healthy treat.
Also try roasting these beans with any variety of your favorite exotic spice blends...I'm already dreaming of an Indian version with curry powder, masala, white pepper, plus the salt and garlic powder, yum!
*WARNING* - These may be addicting! 😉
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 bag (about a 1/2 lb) or 3 cans of chickpeas
- (soak dried chickpeas 8 hr and strain out water or open a can of chickpeas; dry off)
- 2 tbs Olive oil
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp Onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- dash of Lime juice
- Salt & pepper to taste
Bake at 400 F for 30-40 min, and stir/shake chickpeas every 10 min.
* NOTE: When soaking dried chickpeas - fill up the water in a container to cover the beans with about 2 in of water. Use a large enough bowl for soaking because the chickpeas expand as they soak.
* BAKING TIPS:
- Pour chickpeas into pan as a single layer.
- Check your chicks until they reach your desired level of crispness and browning.
Happy roasting!
❤️ Lisa
